Xmas 2008!
This year's christmas for me has been wonderful, when it seemed nothing was planned, somehow it ended well :) Didn't really want to go cramming with people on the streets, so it was godsend when Joey invited us to crash her hotel suite with Guanghua and others, thanks Joey! There were lotsa of yummy food prepared by Joey and games played.

The great company and the winning twister team! haha

Jerraine also swung by to complete a great xmas eve party!

Attended another xmas party on boxing day at Denise's house this time, thanks for the invite mei! Was nice meeting up with the gang, always good to see u all ya ;) There were lots of food, and the most churios i've ever seen in my life, no kidding! one big tray of it! haha, it was night of great company and fun, although the girls KO-ed early after the jaggerbombing madness...

Food galore and the gang :) special mention to bess-dressed award winner Peiwen, and reindeer Pris haha

Secret santa me and my secret santa..thanks for the energetic sensation love box ah gracie! ;P

Movie and a little bit of randomness...
Caught the movie Ip Man with my bro recently at The Cathay. For all of you who don't know what the show is about, it isn't about internet protocol or anything, but a movie about the grandmaster of the famed Wing Chun martial arts. I must say I was jaw-dropped on a few of the fighting scenes in the show, it was freaking awesome, and Donnie yen simply rocks in action movies!

Apparently, there were a fair bit of controversies surrounding the movie, with some criticising it's authenticity and its unfair representation of Ip Man and others were quick to say that Wing Chun is not as powerful in reality as it was portrayed against other forms of martial arts in the movie. But what the hell, who cares right? In the show it was awesome! In a particular interview with the Wushu champion of China, when asked about Ip Man, he replied he did not even know who he was until the movie was made. That infuriated Wing Chun practitioners and they issued a challenge to him, loser to donate 500k to charity. Looks like the heat is on ;) I certainly look forward to it!

On a random note, I came across this banner which is quite funny, thought I'd share:

Howl at the moon!
Went to this bar called 'Howl at the moon' at Peranakan Place on friday. If you haven't been there, they have a very good band which will play songs on request. Mainly patronized by expats, i think we were one of the few table of locals that day, but hell i think we were the craziest! As one ang moh puts it, we were party animals! hahaha :P

It was an awesome night of dancing and drinking, there you can see the pianos and the band behind, as well as the table of expats behind us who were just as crazy!

Group shot with the girls who made the night come alive :)

At some point in the night, we turned the bar into a club. We started pulling people from other tables to dance with us and the staff were glad to shift the tables away to create a dance floor for us. And so, we partied the rest of the night away like that....

To top it off, i managed to take a picture with the cute waitress there as well haha :) Definitely will visit the place again sometime soon! Anyone that wants to go, lemme know k!

Zooooouk Out! '08
This was something that i've looked forward to for a long time, and thanks to daphne, we got discounted tixs for it. Thank you! :) We all met at Vivo for an early dinner because we didn't want to hit the crowd going to sentosa.

We were given a lanyard and a lightstick upon entry, cool, but the first thing that caught our eyes as we went in was the freeflow of drinks from the singtel booth, next thing i know, we were faced with 15 shots, lol! what a way to start the night and a sign of things to come, haha.. We walked ard, checked out the different booths and 'dance floors' There was a mambo jumbo area, a live performance area as well as an electro/progressive trance area which was my fav!

We sat ourselves at the mambo jumbo area where we met eugene, got my legs buried in sand and played drinking games with a classical Galvin moment haha..We then headed over to the 42 below booth where we partied the rest of the night away on electro..yeah~

The girls and the live performance area...

Ellery, the lightband girl and rest of us at mambo jumbo..

The 42 Below booth with Cash and his gang :) and a group shot of us!

Karaoke + Ramen + Rebel
It was May's birthday last week and we planned a surprise for her, where she thought everybody couldn't make it and in the end one by one all popped up! Haa, hope u had a great time May, I know i did ahhaha - my long awaited karaoke session!

Met up with Lyddy, Gracie, Denise, Beckie, Sq, John, Lynn on sat for dinner at Liang Court. Went to this ramen place called Marutama Ramen which serves really nice ramen. It was so good it was starting to sell out when we arrived at 8pm, but luckily we got the last 7 bowls and we devoured it in record time, nobody was talking just the sound of slurping of the ramen hahaha!

Went for coffee (starbucks of course) after dinner where i left them to meet Bert and Edwina. Great to see u Ed :) We went to this charity event organised by ACS peeps held at Rebel. The theme was school party and there were girls clad in PE attire selling water bottles filled with alcohol all in the name of charity. Besides that, there were also free cotton candy and ice cream for everyone, cool!

Check out the water bottle she's holdin...totally old skool man!

Madagascar
I finally caught Madagascar! haha. Watched it with Dior and Bert, thou for Bert it was his second time watching it. ..And u fell asleep bro! hahaha we saw it!! No pics bro, but we have an audio recording of your snore if u want..lol just kidding! The movie wasn't as good as the first one i felt, but nevertheless funny, added that Dior was sitting beside me and she was constantly tickled throughout the movie by small lil' animals, which made me laugh even more hahaha.

Catch it if u haven't!!

987fm R.S.V.P & butter factory
Went to the 987fm R.S.V.P party for twilight. Didn't plan to go, but was convinced by Bert and Desiree in the end haha, turned out i enjoyed it! lol Met up with Pearlyn, Melissa, PJ as well, most of the peeps that came were dressed in black. We all got our fake fangs (with a plasticky taste) and vampire make-up to match the occasion. It was good fun, free flow, great music. Did i mentioned we also set a record for the most number or vampires
indoors!? hahaha what a weird record, but hey i was part of it! haha..

After the event at the Arena, Bert and I scooted off to Butter factory to look for Lyddy, Gracie and Denise and we had a whole lot of fun! I don't go partying with u girls much, but i guess i should do it more often! Great company, great night.

backlog of updates ..lol
So here it goes, i don't even quite remember the chronological order or everything that has happened, but heck, ahhaha. i'll keep it short!

Bellini Grande, Yellow Jello, Rebel:
Visited 3 new places in 1 night!! yay! Bellini Grande was impressive, they had a huge stage with an impressive set. It used to be at st james, now it has moved to Clark Quay. You have to see it to feel it. Really nice. Yellow Jello was cool, transforming from last-time candy bar to a more spacious retro bar with a live band was pretty neat. Chanced into Desiree who was doing a show for Heneiken earlier in the day who joined for beer and food, though the food took really long to arrive, at least it was good, so not that bad...lastly, Rebel, didn't stay for long but the place has also become more spacious, worth checking it out!

Zirca:

Ok, i really wanted to check Zirca out. One, because exams are over!! Two, i wanted to see how the place looks like after MOS is no more..Besides the lonnnng queue, it was actually quite cool. there were hanging metal corridor/platforms where dancers danced about as well as a kick ass plastic container that hanged over the main dance floor with water inside! At one segment, dancers were dancing inside. Cool!

42 below Silent Party:
Held at loof, this party was really interesting. Upon entry, each person was given a pair of headphones. There were 2 DJs spinning, one hip-hop, the other electro. We could switch to either one of the 2 channels at any time. So just imagine a club without music, and people bobbling their heads, gyrating to the music in the headphone, cool right! :) Besides the unique concept, there was also great company. Was good to see Lyddy, Gracie, Denise and Sq as well as Cash and gang who were working there.

Halloween:
Halloween o' halloween, i should probably have a separate post of this, because it was so happening this year haha. I decided to go as joker. Bert was my make-up artiste that day, spent almost an hour to get the looks right at a public restroom and boy was the effect amazing! Of cos, there were many peeps who came to party in wonderful costumes. May, Joey, Ban, Guang Hua, Daph, April, Gavin was the undead royal family. Alex and Jerraine was the weird genie(with a tail), samurai couple. Bert was the mad scientist, Huirong, school girl, Casse, snow white, Cash, as the devil....

..but the fun ends here...getting the make-up off was the sad part. I didn't want to wake my mum up for her make-up remover and she sees my face and faints. hhaha, so it was good o' rubbing and scrubbing...lol

Kanye West - Glow in the dark tour:
Had a blast watching Kanye West perform, was a great performance by him, the crowd was crazy. Fantastic! Saw a few familiar faces around too like Desiree and Melissa. Was a great night out!
